Job Description

The opportunity has arisen to join a fantastic family owned business based on the outskirts of Colchester. Our client who has been trading since 2008 is seeking an experience machinist to join their team, operating their 3 axis CNC Mills and CNC Manual Lathe to produce components from existing drawings.

The Role
  • Operate 3 axis CNC mill and CNC /Manual Lathe.
  • Development work for new projects.
  • Updating/new drawings of components.
  • Be constantly aware of health and safety procedures when using the machines.
  • Operate a clean and tidy work space at all times.
The Person
  • Milling and turning – manual Lathe/mills (ideally time served or proven work record)
  • CNC setting/programming (minimum 2 year experience.)
  • Ability to work from sketch drawings for prototype/development to CAD drawings for parts.
  • Ability to draw up components once finalised.
  • Working with or Experience in CAD / CNC software an advantage.
  • Ability to work with a team as well as own initiative.

Our client based in Ipswich are seeking a Motor Claims Handler to join their expanding team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working as a Claims Handler.

The Role
  • Undertaking those inquiries necessary to obtain sufficient information to establish policy liability and progress claims efficiently.
  • Registering new claims accurately on the company computer systems and updating the records during the life of the claim.
  • Ensuring all claims and correspondence, on delegated authority cases, are correctly maintained and to provide a clear and concise history of events, actions, and quantum assessment.
  • Obtaining and submitting completed Client claim documentation to Insurers or nominated service providers promptly.
  • Answering telephone calls promptly and effectively dealing with all inquiries in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Processing incoming post within agreed service standards.
  • Dealing with Client inquiries within designated time frames or as otherwise agreed with Client.
  • Communicating effectively with Insurers, nominated service providers, engineers, and Loss Adjusters etc, using methods appropriate to the circumstances, (including telephone/e-mail/fax, dictation), to ensure the highest levels of customer service are maintained.
  • Providing advice and assistance to Clients, to actively manage the claim process and minimize lapse time.
  • Dispatching claim settlement cheques on the date of receipt.
  • Maintaining an up to date daily diary system, taking effective steps to conclude outstanding issues.
  • Ensuring leakage is kept to a minimum.
  • Maintaining a recovery database to drive retained recoveries to settlement.
  • Ensuring the quality of output meets technical and service standards.
  • Complying with all laid down Company procedures, FCA compliance requirements, and the company complaints procedure.
  • To work in line with Company best practice and FCA legislation.

  • Report to your manager on a day-to-day basis and liaise with other management and staff as required.
  • Translate customer specifications into electrical and panel designs and on occasion be expected to discuss with the customer about their requirements.
  • Produce designs ensuring the correct functionality and performance is met whilst bearing in mind costs to the company.
  • Commissioning of PLCs (programmes pre-written) and HMIs and electrical systems, participation out on the factory floor is essential.
